Mary Adams 1935-2006

Mary Adams was an active member of the Board of Directors of the Maine Labor Group on Health for the last twelve years.

Mary Lacey Kelly Adams, aged 71, died last Monday night, November 13, 2006, at the home of her niece, Sarah Kelly, in Southwest Harbor, Maine, after a six-month struggle with breast cancer. She chose natural healing and hospice care and passed quietly in the company of family and friends.

Ms.Adams was the author of Toxics B.C., a study of the anthropogenic toxins in early human history. She was born in Illinois, grew up in Rhode Island, and taught at Montessori schools in Europe after graduating from Newton College of he Sacred Heart in greater Boston. She has made her home in Maine for more than thirty years, most recently in Spruce Head and Southwest Harbor.

She was predeceased by her former husband and is survived by her three brothers and two generations of nieces and nephews. At her request, there will be no funeral service and well wishers are encouraged to support Hospice of Hancock County, for whose loving care of the departed her family is deeply grateful.
